West Community Credit Union’s New Home Office Complete - 8/15/2004 Altman-Charter Company announced has completed construction on West Community Credit Union’s home-office facility in O’Fallon, MO. Altman-Charter, based in St. Louis, specializes in the planning, design, and construction management of financial institutions. The 14,900 sf two-story building was constructed on an out-parcel of the new Keaton Crossing retail center in O’Fallon’s emerging Highway 64/40 tech corridor. The design called for a contemporary blue and gray exterior in order to promote an innovative image in the community and to stand out against surrounding brick structures. In contrast to the exterior, the interior design utilizes wood finishes, curved glass walls, and 4 pyramid-shaped skylights to create an open, comfortable atmosphere for the primarily residential client-base. The first-floor services members and a second-floor mezzanine level provides general office space. In addition to two traditional teller stations, the plan utilized new technologies to service customers and market additional services. Two-way audio/video stations in the lobby allow employees to simultaneously handle both drive-up and walk-in lobby customers. Plasma screens located on interior walls continuously scroll advertisements and information, and internet workstations will also be available for training customers interested in using on-line banking services. Altman-Charter Company’s design/build team has worked together for over 25 years building financial institutions.
