High-tech Solutions Improve Efficiencies at Florissant Credit Union - 1/12/2004 Altman-Charter Company announced today it has completed construction on a renovation with high-tech updates for Spirit of St. Louis Credit Union in Florissant, MO. Altman-Charter, based in St. Louis, specializes in the planning, design, and construction management of financial institutions. Part of the renovation included the addition of state-of-the art, fully automated remote teller system units (RTS) to replace the traditional teller line. The RTS' consist of walk-up two-way audio/video equipment and pneumatic tubes, which connect to a central teller work area. This configuration allows the same staff to service walk-in and drive-up members. This is one of the first installations of this type equipment in the St. Louis regional areas. The project also included an update to the interior design and a reconfiguration of the floor plan to add office space and reposition the lobby layout. "We used the same amount of space they had before, but greatly increased the functionality of the facility," said Bill Davis, Altman-Charter Project Manager. Altman-Charter utilized a phased construction sequence to ensure the credit union's employees could continue serving its growing member base throughout the remodeling project. "Our on-site supervisor worked closely with the staff to keep the credit union running and keep the project moving," said Davis. Altman-Charter is building a new home office facility for the Spirit of St. Louis Credit Union in Eureka, Missouri and will transition the remodeled building into a branch facility. The construction is slated to begin in the summer of 2004.
